In an interview with the Latin Lawyer website, our partnerAna Cláudia Utumi discusses the challenges of leaving a major firm to launch her own and why boutiques need strong management to help their lawyers shine.
She was recognised earlier this year with Latin Lawyer’s Specialist Law Firm Leader Award.
“The motivation I had when I founded the firm is still the same. I want to be part of projects that tackle a broad scope of issues within the tax law practice, while providing an efficient, tailor-made service to clients – something that is general only possible at a boutique firm”, she said.
“The main challenge that I faced when launching the firm was showing international clients that, despite being a boutique, we could assist them in the same way as a full-service law firm”, she adds.
