Between August 26 and 28, the VIII International Tax Law Congress of Rio de Janeiro will take place, of which Utumi Advogados is one of the sponsors.

On the first day of the event, our partner Camila Tapias will speak on the panel “Taxation on consumption and non-cumulative taxation,” alongside Renata Novonty, André Mendes Moreira, Fabio Grilo, Gustavo Noronha, Hugo de Brito Machado Segundo, and Melissa Castello.

On the 27th, our partner Ana Cláudia Utumi will be one of the speakers on the panel on Pillar 2 and the CSLL surcharge, alongside Doris Canen, Dali Bouzoraa, Juliana Paranhos, Luis Eduardo Schoueri, Marco Antonio Macedo, and Sérgio André Rocha.

Organized by the Brazilian Association of Financial Law (ABDF), this year’s edition has as its theme “Current Challenges of Tax Reform” and pays tribute to Professor Edvaldo Brito, a figure of great importance to national tax law, whose work combines technical knowledge, public dedication, and a profound legal legacy.

The event will be held in a hybrid format, with in-person sessions at the Sheraton Grand Rio Hotel & Resort (Rio de Janeiro) and online streaming.
