In an interview with Valor Econômico, our partner Camila Tapias commented on the technological upgrades that the tax reform will require of companies—especially medium-sized businesses, which are still in the early stages of preparing for the changes set to take effect in 2027.

According to her, the first step is to adjust the ERP—an enterprise resource planning system that integrates financial data, purchasing, sales, inventory, and invoices. According to the attorney, this work may require support from consulting firms and audit firms specializing in reviewing system configurations and conducting tests.

Camila emphasizes the urgency of this effort. “Pilot tests cannot be left until the last minute. In the initial tests conducted by some of our clients, the system did not calculate correctly and pulled in other data, because the reform significantly changes the logic,” she warns.
