Our partner Camila Tapias, who is also the executive director of the Women in Taxation project, spoke at a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Economic Affairs (CAE) on October 15.
In her speech, published in full on the Tax Reform Portal, Camila addressed the urgent need for centralized inspection and adjudication for IBS and CBS taxes, in order to avoid duplicate processes, excessive litigation and a waste of public resources.
She also argued that, despite significant changes in material tax law, procedural law is not keeping pace, resulting in complexities that go against the principles of simplicity and transparency.
