Our partner Camila Tapias spoke to Forbes about how inheritance tax works in the United States.

Assets can be exempt from tax in the US. However, Camila explains that the exemption limit is adjusted annually in line with inflation.

According to the article, the tax is called “estate tax” and there is a federal exemption of up to US$ 13.6 million per person. Therefore, if the inheritance is up to this amount, the estate tax is zero.
