In an interview with the CNN Money program, our partner Ana Cláudia Utumi spoke about the sanctioning of the tax reform and possible legal uncertainties.
Ana explained that the new legislation has fewer edges than the current one, “because a series of points that the taxpayer has been discussing over the years with the FIsco in court have been eliminated in the tax reform”.
She mentioned the IBS and CBS credit as an example. “As complementary law 214, in line with the constitutional amendment, determines a broad credit, there are few cases of credit limitation. This is a point that, for the future, we will have much less litigation, much less discussion about.”
In any case, Ana stresses that the new system is not a simple one, which could lead to new discussions between the tax authorities and taxpayers in the future.
