JOTA published an article by our partners Ana Cláudia Utumi and Camila Tapias, and our lawyer Ilse Andriotti, entitled “Tax Reform and the Services Sector: Many Challenges Ahead”.
The text is part of the series “Tax Reform by Them”, an initiative of Women in Taxation which, on a weekly basis, features relevant texts written by tax experts who are members of the project.
In the article, the authors point out that “tax reform is seen as necessary to ensure the country’s fiscal sustainability and promote a more favorable business environment, but its impacts on the service sector in Brazil are complex and varied.”
“It is therefore imperative that mechanisms are found to mitigate the negative impacts on the services sector, since it is an essential engine for economic growth and job creation in Brazil,” they add.
