Valor Econômico interviewed our partner Ana Cláudia Utumi about the participation of representatives of sectors of the economy in the regulation of tax reform, which should be concentrated only in Congress, according to the design made by the extraordinary secretariat for tax reform of the Ministry of Finance. 

The report pointed out that this point has been criticized by tax experts.

For Ana, the proposal for technical working groups with the division of themes presented by the government is positive, but the inclusion of representatives of private sector entities in the working groups is lacking. She stresses that the phase of regulating complementary laws and processing them in the National Congress is fundamental.

“I think it would have been very interesting if these working groups had included representatives of the private sector, in order to have a better balance in the discussions and to have some kind of alignment with the private sector when the complementary legislation is proposed,” she says.
