With the publication of the new CBS and IBS regulations, the real estate market is increasingly focusing on who will be subject to the new taxes and under what conditions.
Camila points out that the focus of taxation is on those who actually use real estate as an economic activity. “The new taxes will apply to those who fit the profile of a market agent.”
She also notes that, despite the progress, the regulations brought fewer changes than the market had expected. “The greatest need we have today is a discussion about the tax rates, not least for the sake of legal certainty and predictability.”
